What We Believe
The Bible: We believe that the Bible is God´s word written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. 2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20,21; 2 Timothy 1:13; Psalm 119:105,160, 12:6; Proverbs 30:5.
God: We believe that God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God. Genesis 1:1,26,27; 3:22; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:19; 1 Peter 1:2; 2 Corinthians 13:14.
Jesus Christ: We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God who became a man. He lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on a cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven´s glory and will return again to earth to reign as King of kings, and Lord of lords. Matthew 1:22,23; Isaiah 9:6; John 1:1-5, 14:10-30; Hebrews 4:14,15; 1 Corinthians 15:3,4; Romans 1:3,4; Acts 1:9-11; 1 Timothy 6:14,15; Titus 2:13.
The Holy Spirit: We believe that the Holy Spirit is equal with the Father and the Son as God. He is present in the world to make humans aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. 2 Corinthians 3:17; John 16:7-13, 14:16,17; Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 2:12, 3:16; Ephesians 1:13; Galatians 5:25; Ephesians 5:1.
Humans: We believe that humans are made in the image of God, to be like Him in character. Humans are the supreme object of God’s creation. Although humans have tremendous potential for good, They are marred by an attitude of disobedience toward God called “sin”. This attitude separates humans from God. Genesis 1:27; Psalm 8:3-6; Isaiah 53:6a; Romans 3:23; Isaiah 59:1,2.
Salvation: We believe that salvation is a gift from God to humans. Humans can never make up for his sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness can humans be saved from sin’s penalty. Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into his/her life by faith. Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8,9; John 14:6, 1:12; Titus 3:5; Galatians 3:26; Romans 5:1.
Baptism: We believe that Christian baptism is the immersion of a believer in water. It is an act of Obedience symbolizing the believer’s faith in a crucified, buried, and risen Savior, the believer’s death to sin, the burial of the old life, and the resurrection to walk in newness of life in Christ Jesus. Matthew 28:18-20; Mark 16:16; Romans 6:4.
Communion: We believe that communion, or the Lord's Supper, is a symbolic act of obedience whereby believers memorialize the suffering and death of the Lord Jesus Christ and the shedding of His blood for our sins.
Evangelism & Missions: We believe that it is the duty and privilege of every follower of Christ and every church of the Lord Jesus Christ to endeavor to make disciples of all nations… to seek and bring the lost to Christ by verbal witness under-girded by a Christian lifestyle, and by other methods in harmony with the gospel of Christ. Matthew 28:18-20.
The Church: We believe that the local New Testament Church is a congregation of baptized believers associated by a covenant of faith and fellowship of the gospel; observing the ordinances of Christ; governed by His laws; and exercising the gifts, rights, and privileges invested in them by His Word. We believe the true mission of the church is found in the Great Commission: first, to make individual disciples; second, to build up the church; third, to teach and instruct as He has commanded. Matthew 16:18; 28:19-20; Acts 2:41, 42; 6:5-7; 14:23; 15:22, 23; 20:17-28; 1 Corinthians 5:11-13; 6:1-3; 16:1; 2 Corinthians 8:23,24; 12:4; Ephesians 1:22,23; 4:11; 5:23,24; Colossians 1:18; 1 Timothy 3:1-13; 1 Peter 2:9; 5:1-4.
Stewardship: We believe that God is the source of all blessings, temporal and spiritual; all that we have and are we owe to Him. Christians have a spiritual debtor-ship to the whole world, a holy trusteeship in the gospel, and a binding stewardship in their possessions. They are therefore under obligation to serve Him with their time, talents, and material possessions. Deuteronomy 10:14; 1 Chronicles 29:11-12; Psalm 24:1-2; Haggai 2:9; Leviticus 25:23.
Last Things: We believe that God, in His own time and in His own way, will bring the world to its appropriate end. Jesus Christ will return personally and visibly, the dead will be raised and Christ will judge all people in righteousness. The unrighteous will be consigned to Hell; the righteous will receive their reward and will dwell forever in Heaven with the Lord. Matthew 24; Acts 1:10-11.
